Practical reasoning, then, plays a central role in the achievement of happiness, the final end for humans, and therefore in God’s plan for us. Like speculative reasoning, practical reasoning generally takes a deductive form. Just as science is the conclusion of the demonstrative syllogism, so conscience is the conclusion of a practical syllogism.
